Progettare una borsa assomiglia al modo in cui si progetta tutto il resto. Nasce un’idea, si fa spazio nella mente e, piano piano, prende forma. A volte accade invece che una determinata stoffa, un tessuto rinvenuto da qualche parte, comincia a trovare una sua compiutezza in una forma. Anzi, è proprio il tessuto a suggerirmi la forma.
Comincia così la ricerca di abbinamenti possibili, fra interno ed esterno, forma e contenuto. “Nascere nella testa” è il principio fondamentale delle mie creazioni, per trovare poi una dimensione nel mondo reale.
Solo dopo che la borsa si crea nella mia fantasia, comincio a disegnare qualche schizzo, per immaginare o risolvere problemi realizzativi che incontrerò nella fase di costruzione del prototipo.
Ogni particolare delle Borgo Solaio viene cucito a mano, assemblato e rifinito in modo artigianale. Ore e ore sopra lo stesso pezzo, prima che possa licenziarlo come finito!
Passione o follia? Chissà! Provare per credere.
